Tired of your skin looking… tired?

BroadBand Light Therapy is a powerful, FDA-approved treatment that uses short blasts of high-intensity light to restore your skin to a firmer, more even, more youthful state.

Even those of us blessed with great genes can’t completely escape the damage done by the sun, pollution, and the chemicals we come into contact with every day. Thankfully there are new treatments coming out every day to combat those tell-tale signs of aging: age spots, wrinkles, and uneven skin texture.

What’s best? There’s no surgery involved, and the treatment requires little to no downtime. You’ll be back to looking like your radiant, rested self in no time.

What is BBL Photofacial?

BroadBand Light therapy is a safe, FDA-cleared anti-aging treatment used to treat sun damage, uneven skin texture, and tone, as well as fine lines and wrinkles. Because there is no surgery involved, BBL is a quick in-office procedure for skin rejuvenation. BBL is particularly effective at treating:

  • Loose/crepey skin
  • Pigmented Lesions such as age spots and freckles
  • Vascular Lesions such as visible blood vessels
  • Uneven skin texture

How does BBL Photofacial work?

BBL uses short blasts of high-intensity light. The energy from the light will gently heat the upper layers of skin, stimulating your skin cells to regenerate new collagen. Your skin will be restored to the firmer, fuller, smoother skin of your youth. The same energy that generates new collagen growth can shrink fine blood vessels that cause redness, and reduce excess melanin associated with sun damage.

Does BBL Photofacial hurt?

Most patients find that the cooling features of the machine allow for minimal discomfort. For those patients with sensitive skin, numbing cream can be administered prior to the treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

Many patients see results after their first treatment. It is recommended that patients undergo BBL Photofacial treatments between two and four times each year for the best outcomes.

FAQ: BBL Photofacial

What is BBL Photofacial and how does it work?

BroadBand Light Therapy is a powerful, FDA-approved treatment that uses short blasts of high-intensity light to restore your skin to a firmer, more even, more youthful state.

What is the difference between BBL and IPL?

Both BBL and IPL are photofacial treatments. These are light based devices that rejuvenate the skin. A BBL, however, is a more powerful photofacial and can achieve more in one session than an IPL. During the treatment, the first pass of energy over the skin is called “Forever Young”. This pass stimulates collagen and elastin and brings out certain skin imperfections such as pigmentation and redness. Specific filters are then used to target these issues. This method of multiple passes in conjunction with the cooling technology allows for a safer, more effective treatment and yields superior results per session.

Is it a laser treatment?

No. It uses various wavelengths of light to rejuvenate skin.

What should I expect to look like after?

This is a no downtime procedure. Patients can return to their normal daily activities immediately after their treatment. There may be slight pinkness of the skin or darkening of pigmentation. Sunblock is applied in the office after the treatment and patients may then apply any makeup if desired. Dark spots will darken further over the next few days to week and will flake off.

How will BBL improve the appearance of my skin?

BBL photofacial treatments improve dull skin leaving it more radiant and hydrated. Results can be seen almost immediately to 2 weeks later and there is a cumulative effect with repeat treatment. It will correct areas of pigmentation such as sunspots and freckles, improve redness including capillaries around the nose, improve pore size and fine lines. BBL will also help to improve acne acne by killing the underlying bacteria, decreasing oil production and minimizing redness.

How often should I get a BBL Photofacial?

BBL photofacials give the best results when done in series. Usually a series of 3 treatments, one month apart is recommended. After that, a maintenance program of 2-3 per year is recommended.
