Hydrafacial

PATIENT TESTIMONIAL: HYDRAFACIAL

Get the dewy, glowing skin of your dreams with our ultimate four-step facial that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts and hydrates skin. You relax; let our hydrafacial do the hard work.

What is a HydraFacial?

A HydraFacial is a medical-grade skin resurfacing treatment using Vortex-fusion technology that clears pores and suctions toxins. Taking around 30 minutes, the four-step treatment cleanses, exfoliates, extracts and hydrates the skin using serums that are infused into pores using the HydraPeel Tip.

Skin is first cleansed and gently exfoliated with a mild peel, painless suction is used to clean out the pores, and then antioxidants and peptides are infused into the skin.

A HydraFacial is not only effective, but delightfully soothing and relaxing too.

What are the HydraFacial benefits?

There are many benefits including a refreshed, hydrated and clearer complexion. Skin appears firmer, reducing the visibility of wrinkles and fine lines, large pores are reduced, skin texture improved and any brown spots lightened.

A HydraFacial is effective yet still gentle enough that everyone can benefit, regardless of skin type or texture.

A HydraFacial treatment can help with:

  • Fine lines + wrinkles
  • Dark spots + sun damage
  • Elasticity + firmness
  • Enlarged pores
  • Congested pores
  • Even tone + skin vibrancy
  • Skin texture
  • Acne
  • Oily skin

Who is a HydraFacial suitable for?

Everyone. From teenagers with acne and adults concerned with wrinkles or hyperpigmentation, to older patients with sun damage and skin flakiness, all can benefit from our HydraFacial treatment.

However, if you have active rashes or sunburns, the HydraFacial may not be for you.

Are there any conditions the HydraFacial is not suitable for?

If you have active rashes, rosacea or sunburn unfortunately the HydraFacial is not right for you because the products used could cause inflammation and/or further damage to the skin. Once these subside, you may be a good candidate for the treatment.

If you are pregnant, we recommend avoiding this treatment.

The best way to determine if this innovative treatment is right for you is with an appointment for an initial consultation. During this appointment, your facialist will examine your skin and find out what issues you would like addressed. It’s also your chance to ask any and every question - we’re more than happy to answer.

What is the HydraFacial process?

The HydraFacial treatment starts with a cleansing process that removes dead skin cells. The medical-grade resurfacing treatment cleanses the top layer of the skin. Next, a mix of acids (salicylic and glycolic) are gently applied to the skin to perform a gentle peel, breaking up any debris from the surface.

The next stage is extraction. The HydraFacial’s patented automated vortex suction process is used to remove debris like dirt, oil and gunk that is clogging pores.

The hydration process involves nourishing the skin with intense moisturizers. The final step of this treatment is designed to fuse and protect the skin, which is why the skin’s surface is saturated with peptides and antioxidants as well as personalized skin solutions chosen for you by your facialist.

Want more? We’ve got it. We can tailor your HydraFacial based on your desired outcome with extra serums we can add to help brighten, tighten and plump.

Growth Factor Boost: Minimizes fine lines + wrinkles, restoring skin health and vitality.

Dermabuilder Boost: Minimizes signs of aging and recharges skin with a combo of peptides.

Britenol Boost: Minimizes dark spots and sun spots for a youthful glow.

Lastly, we use the HydraPeel Tip to vacuum out blackheads, dirt, oil and other impurities while hydrating your skin with special serums leaving it glowing.

While this gentle suction is happening, the HydraPeel Tip is adding nourishing serums to your skin.

The best part of a HydraFacial? They have a strict no-pain protocol. Our HydraFacial is customizable, gentle and pain-free with impressive results. No catch.

What are the HydraFacial side effects?

Another reason to love this treatment is that there are very few side effects and essentially no downtime required post-treatment. A little redness is normal, but will subside shortly.

If you have reactive or sensitive skin, you may experience some irritation from the customized serums however this is rare thanks to the calming nature of the serums we use.

How often do I need a HydraFacial?

Your skin will be dewy and glowing after your HydraFacial. While it has immediate results, best results from HydraFacial come from long-term commitment rather than using it as a quick fix. We recommend having a HydraFacial every 4-6 weeks.

You can also combine your HydraFacial with other procedures such as Botox and fillers.

Note: Dr Purewal advises receiving your HydraFacial prior to Botox if combining; you should wait at least 4 hours after receiving injectables to lay down.

How long does the treatment take?

Approximately 30-45 minutes.

Is there downtime associated with the HydraFacial?

No. You can go continue on with your day immediately. Unlike traditional facials which can leave your skin red and irritated, most people experience the dewy, glowy results right away.

Although you can apply makeup immediately, we recommend avoiding until the following morning after your treatment. This allows the skin to continue benefiting from the products used during treatment (e.g., moisturizers, serums, etc.).

Does a HydraFacial hurt?

No, although due to the slight suctioning and exfoliation process that removes makeup, oil, dirt and debris from deep within the skin, some patients can find the New Jersey HydraFacial treatment a little uncomfortable. We’ve had patients liken it to the feeling of a cat licking their face.

The intensity of the exfoliation can be adjusted by your facialist.

What is the HydraFacial aftercare?

Makeup can be worn immediately after. You should avoid any exfoliating products, waxing or depilatories for 48 hours post treatment. Always wear sunblock and avoid excessive sun exposure.

Why do I need/may I want to have a facial?

A facial is generally a treatment used to help correct a variety of skin issues, such as acne, large pores and wrinkles. They can include a variety of steps and products, including massage to promote collagen production and blood flow, and light therapy.

It’s no secret that we’d all love to have clear, vibrant, smooth and refreshed-looking skin that reflects our inner beauty.

It’s this desire that has made HydraFacial procedures one of the most popular treatments, thanks to its unique capabilities to address the most common issues affecting the skin, including signs of aging, as well as a truly skin-hydrating facial. If you’re looking for a HydraFacial near me, look no further than with Dr Purewal and our team at Fresh Face + Eye.

Are facials beneficial if I don’t have skin problems?

Definitely. As well as targeting conditions like uneven skin tone, blemishes or acne, a facial is designed to leave your skin clean, refreshed and vibrant.

A facial can:

  • Stimulate skin cell turnover.
  • Reduce the signs of aging.
  • Strengthen the stratum corneum, which is the skin’s natural protective barrier. This barrier prevents biological irritants and environmental chemicals from permeating the skin.
    • Environmental issues include ultraviolet light (i.e., the sun’s UV rays), toxic chemicals and other types of external assaults.
    • Biological irritants include bacteria, cigarette smoke, free radicals, allergens and other kinds of microbes.
  • Minimize the number of breakouts an individual experiences.

What is the difference between a traditional facial, a HydraFacial, microdermabrasion and a traditional chemical peel?

A traditional facial is designed to help correct common skin problems, including blackheads, acne, texture, enlarged pores, wrinkles and dull-looking skin. A traditional facial usually includes a facial cleansing, massage, specialized face masks, exfoliators (physical or chemical) and extractions.

A HydraFacial is an innovative treatment that offers all the benefits offered by a traditional facial - and more. A disposable HydroPeel Tip is used to suck up the debris that is trapped deep down inside the follicles and pores. These tips can extract debris that is much deeper than can be accomplished with the extraction procedures used during a traditional facial and microdermabrasion procedures. The unique ability of a HydraFacial treatment to moisturize and hydrate the skin also places this procedure a step above the rest.

A microdermabrasion treatment consists of manual extractions and exfoliation. There are currently two microdermabrasion treatments available:

  • Fine crystals are applied to the skin. The crystals are used to ‘sand’ the skin. This sanding process removes the uppermost layer of skin (i.e., the epidermis).
  • A diamond-tip wand is moved across the skin to exfoliate it.

A traditional chemical peel can be effective, however the products used tend to get better results on those with lighter skin tones. There are three chemical peel options: light, medium and deep.

Are Fresh Face + Eye’s New Jersey HydraFacials beneficial to every skin type?

Yes, the HydraFacial treatment is highly customizable which makes it beneficial for nearly all skin types. Even those with very sensitive complexions can benefit.

Other unique benefits are:

  • No downtime following treatment
  • Long-lasting results
  • Little to no discomfort or irritation during treatment
  • Reduces inflammation and minimizes redness
  • Provides deep hydration
  • Improves skin tone
  • Pain-free extraction process
  • Peptides are used to heal the skin as well as reduce appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

How customizable is the HydraFacial?

The serums and peels can be customized and modified to ensure your skin issues are targeted and addressed.

HydroPeel Tips: The type of exfoliating tips are chosen by your facialist based on your particular skin characteristics and the issues being addressed.

Exfoliation intensity: During the exfoliation process, there are a variety of intensities that can be used. Your facialist can also vary the amount of time the acids that are used for the peel remain on your face.

Add-ons: These options are always available. If you are interested in adding on to your procedure, we are always happy to help you choose the serums and add-on treatments that will best serve your skin.

There are numerous add-on options available. For a full rundown contact us or see a small sample below.

  • Sun damage.
  • Uneven skin tones.
  • There is also a booster for individuals who have sensitive skin.

What will happen during my HydraFacial treatment?

Let’s take you through it in a little more detail.

Step one: A gentle facial cleanser is used to clean the skin. This cleansing process removes any excess debris and oil from the skin’s surface.

Step two:  A solution of salicylic and glycolic acids is applied to the skin. These acids break up the oil and dirt that clog the pores. These acids can deliver the same benefits as other types of peels, but without the post-peel scaling.

Step three: After the peel, extractions are performed using the HydraFacial handpiece. The facialist chooses a disposable HydroPeel Tip for you based on your skin characteristics and specific needs. During this step, a solution containing salicylic acid is used to penetrate the pores and the impaction inside each pore is removed.

Following the extractions, the skin is rinsed with water, which neutralizes the salicylic acid solution. Additional treatments that the client has added to his or her HydraFacial (e.g., a booster serum, light therapy, etc.) may be performed at this time.

An Anti-Ox solution containing peptides, antioxidants and hyaluronic acid is applied to the skin. This solution provides hydration and helps prevent future damage.

Step four: Once the Anti-Ox solution has set into the patient’s skin, moisturizers and sun protection are applied.

What are the HydroPeel tips?

These tips are available in a variety of styles, including tips for performing a normal exfoliation, an aggressive exfoliation and an enhanced-aggressive exfoliation. There are also tips specifically designed for the extraction process as well as to fuse and protect the skin once the HydraFacial treatment is complete.

When choosing a HydroPeel Tip, your facialist takes your skin characteristics into consideration (e.g., thick skin, congested skin, etc.). Since HydroPeel Tips are disposable, they are only used once.

The GunkJar: Delightful or gross?

Can’t wait to see what we’ve extracted from your face? Take a look at the Gunk Jar. The term refers to the jar that is attached to each HydraFacial handpiece. This jar collects everything that is removed from the skin throughout the treatment (e.g., blackheads, dead skin, oil, etc.).

The Gunk Jar allows you to visualize the reason that this procedure is superior to many of the other facial treatments available and makes it clear how beneficial HydraFacials can be to the health and appearance of the skin.

How many HydraFacial treatments do I need to see results?

Everyone is different; however, many of our clients notice results after just one treatment. Visible changes frequently mentioned by our clients after one treatment include dewier, more radiant-looking skin and an even skin tone.

If you’re having a HydraFacial to target specific skin problems, best results may be achieved by more frequent treatment. For example, addressing fine lines and wrinkles, large pores and acne-prone skin attain the best results by having six treatments over a period of six to 12 weeks.

When you’re happy with your skin, this frequency can be reduced.

Although the results attained with the HydraFacial are amazing, this treatment is not meant to be a quick fix for skin problems. It is designed to improve the appearance of the skin over time. To achieve the maximum results, clients who want to diminish the signs of aging and those who have oily and congested skin should start with the series of six treatments and then have a treatment every four to six weeks.

Monthly appointments too much? We understand. Ask Dr Purewal about other non-surgical rejuvenation treatments offered at Fresh Face and Eye that offer longer-lasting results. As a facial rejuvenation specialist, she will be able to determine which of the other procedures available will serve you best.

How much does a HydraFacial cost?

The HydraFacial price can vary based on the products used and skin issues being addressed. After examining your skin during your initial consultation at Fresh Face & Eye in Chatham, New Jersey, your facialist will be able to determine how much this treatment will cost.
