About Dr. Baljeet Purewal
More than two decades of expertise. Still a fresh approach.
A board-certified Oculoplastics and Reconstructive Surgeon, Dr. Purewal is an expert in cosmetic eyelid surgery and facial rejuvenation. She’s specialized from the beginning, from her ophthalmology residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 2003 to the founding of her own practice in 2017.
She studied under top eyelid surgeons, including Dr. Stephen Bosniak, a pioneer of cosmetic eyelid surgery, during her fellowship in Cosmetic Oculofacial Surgery; and Dr. Robert DellaRocca, a renowned Oculoplastics surgeon, during her fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
She’s served as an Oculoplastics Surgeon at many local, leading hospitals, including:
- Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ
- St. Luke’s Roosevelt Medical Center in Manhattan, NY
- New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in Manhattan, NY
- SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY
Dr. Purewal is licensed in both New York and New Jersey and is actively certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology. With this certification, she participates in continuing education, staying up-to-date on the latest technologies and practices that she can bring back to her patients at Fresh Face + Eye. She also participates in the ExpertInjector™ program, offering Botox, Belotero, Juvéderm and Voluma XC at the highest level of precision and safety.
Dr. Purewal believes in giving back: through research, publications and volunteering.

She founded Fresh Face + Eye to empower her patients, but also believes in using her expertise to give back with research, teaching and volunteer work abroad.
Dr. Purewal has been published in textbooks and in research studies on the topics of blepharoplasty, oculofacial rejuvenation and other facial procedures. She has lectured on oculoplastic surgery and facial rejuvenation at many local and national meetings.
Dr. Purewal is sought out for her expertise in beauty care, most recently from publications like NewBeauty and City Lifestyle.
On a volunteer health program mission in the Dominican Republic, Dr. Purewal performed medical eye examinations and ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery with her team at New York eye and Ear Infirmary.

Dr. Purewal has been honored with dozens of awards by her peers and her patients over the last two decades. She was also the recipient of the Faculty Honoree Teaching Award for Attending Physicians in the Department of Ophthalmology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
